NEW BEGINNINGS…

Oh hiiiiyyyyaaaaaa, how are you doing? I wanted to reintroduce myself because it has been a hot minute since I have. I’m Kelly, a womenswear personal stylist & I’m here to help you feel the best version of yourself. That could be finding your hero colours, telling you your body shape & the best outfit lines to wear for your shape or guiding you on your style personality to help curate a wardrobe that works hard for you. We can work together in person or online and I’m quite happy to pull together a personalised package for you, so please do drop me a line if there’s anything you need to discuss. This little bit of investment in yourself can be enlightening, imagine having a wardrobe that works hard for you & your lifestyle and eliminating that blank stare into your wardrobe space every morning. Wouldn't you love to just know what you had would look fantastic but not spend much more time working it all out? I know, for us mums specifically, it can be tricky when it comes to spending money on ourselves but I promise you, it will be worth it.

I haven’t been too consistent online lately but now my youngest has started school, I'm taking my styling business full-time so you’ll be seeing more from me. Since January 2022, I supplemented my income with part-time styling for Stitch Fix, but they’ve sadly closed now so we’ve been through the redundancy process. It ain’t pleasant is it???? All of the uncertainty really took it out of me, I was so sad to finish but I’m excited now for the next chapter and what opportunities it can bring. I then DID NOT appreciate Instagram having a little joke with me & deleting my account on a misunderstanding - they thought I had been selling counterfeit goods which I obvs haven’t. It took me a couple of weeks to get it rectified but I got there in the end. I’ve spent the time since making a proper plan because not having my page really showed me how much I missed it and creating content for you guys.

You’ll see from me more about how I can help you, looks I wear - I’m so keen to show everyone that being over 40 does not mean we’re past it - styles I enjoy curating and family life. I’m a SEN mama, so some weeks are better than others at home so I do appreciate your patience if I miss a day here or there. DON’T LEAVE ME ;)

My whole outfit in the pic above is from local Reigate boutique Gerrard’s, thanks to my buddy Corinne for being photographer extraordinaire.

HOW TO WEAR YOUR DENIM MAXI SKIRT IN AUTUMN..

It all begins with an idea.

The denim maxi skirt was a staple in your wardrobe over summer but don’t pack it away now the temperature has dropped a bit. It’s a great way to give a smart casual, stylish look for your day to day wardrobe, here’s a couple of suggestions that you could try over the coming weeks.

Go casual & cosy with an oversized sweater from H&M. Keep the look pulled together & stylish with similar colour-toned accessories. The hat from Paul Smith is perfect at picking out the colour of the logo and the burgundy Adidas Gazelles tie it all together nicely. As it’s a school run look, you’re going to need a warm jacket for that early morning drop off, so this aviator style from Mango at John Lewis will go perfectly over the sweater. The socks from Raey at Matches are a fun finish.

Style your skirt with this seasons must-have the cowboy boots for a Saturday lunch out with the family, this pair from Pull & Bear will be so versatile for you, good sturdy practical boots but also mega stylish. Tucking in this Mango jumper will naturally cinch in your waist, then add the belt, also Mango, to keep the look neat. A tucked in top can work for most shapes, but if you feel too exposed then try just a French tuck, where you tuck the front part in only. The accessories will add a cute pop of gold to give an expensive finish. The necklace is from Orelia & earrings from Whistles.

Finding the balance between the ‘smart casual’ dress code that your office has & feeling in the right vibe for work can be tricky I know, so give your maxi skirt a smarter look with this blouse & blazer from & Other Stories. Make sure you tuck the shirt in & blouse over and keep the look tidy with the Next belt. The pink blazer will be handy to throw on should you need to attend a last minute meeting. A slimline more dressy belt will give the style a bit of difference to your daytime casual, so these Whistles boots will be perfect. If you’re dashing for a meeting then chuck your laptop or tablet into this bag from Accessorise, it tones in so well with the rest of the look.

We don’t get ‘out out’ as much these days do we, but when you do, you want to feel glam but without having items gathering dust in your wardrobe for the rest of the year. Style your skirt with this River Island Bardot body, the ruching on the tum will be flattering for everyone & the corsage detail is super on trend right now. You won’t need a belt as it will be too busy with the ruching on the top, then keep accessories classic. These chunky block heels from Dune will be so versatile. I found these trendy ear jacket earrings from a seller called Skylight on Etsy, I loved how they were simple but still very edgy. The gather detail on the Arket handbag ties the look in together. Have fun!
